Many people ask us questions about how we intend to create balanced neighborhood development and we often refer them to other people’s work in the past and how they have done it successfully. It can be done but it takes a lot of solid and effective collaboration. The following article touches on the basic premise of our work here in the Grove and will give you some food for thought on how it can be done. We often focus on the “soft” side of development this includes the social, spiritual, and personal capacities of the residents, this part may seems less tangible but it is essential to the long term growth of the individuals and families who currently live in the Grove. It also helps them to actually stay when the “march of progress” comes to our forgotten inner city neighborhoods.

Hi Michael, Erica and all those beautiful children
When we went to China we witnessed the soft approach. You cannot openly share your faith, so you have to concentrate on feeding the hungry and doing everything you can to show love to people who are not allowed to speak aloud about God. Very slow but CY seems unfazed by that. I hope you willnot become discouraged by how long it takes. You are doing a great job and put us to shame. We love you guys.
Tina
Thank you Tina, you are always an encouragement.
