One of the aspects of Urban Resurrection’s strategy to be a more effective ministry is to collaborate as much as possible with like minded individuals, organizations and churches. This not only grows the scope of Urban Resurrection it strengthens the over all fabric of the community and builds the capacity of all involved. One such partnership that has been developing over the last five years has been that of InnerChange (IC)  www.innerchange.org and our Urban Resurrection (U Rez) team. 

We first connected with InnerChange upon our return from Uganda back in 2005 and have been growing our relationship ever since. Lately in an attempt to help IC break into Miami as a possible new site for their ministry network and to give U Rez some much needed support and international scope we have formed a deepening collaboration with each other. 

The next step in this collaboration will be the Summer X Change (SXC)  www.summerxchange.org . Summer X Change is how InnerChange has created opportunities for summer interns to take a 40 day immersion into urban ministry among the poor in any one of their 11 cities or in a ministry partner’s location like that of Urban Resurrection.

We are excited to see how InnerChange and Urban Resurrection will both deepen our commitment to each other through this summer and to see how the three interns that will be coming to Miami on June 10th through August 1st will fit into what we are doing through our Change of Art and Ujima ministries. We will be updating you on the progress of our interns and how they are expanding our ministry effectiveness here in the Grove. We will also be keeping you up to speed on how IC and U Rez work together as we see if we are compatible for the long term future ministry both in Miami and around the globe. 

Please pray with us for the Summer X Change as well as for the roles that our interns will play in Change Of Art and Ujima. 

Pray for the mentors and U Rez staff who will be guiding these interns over the summer.

Pray for the interns themselves who are coming from New York, Tampa and Chicago that they would fit well into the niche that we hope they will fill. 

And pray for the financial resources that the interns are trying to raise currently in order to come for the summer. 

We are all excited for this new development/partnership and are waiting expectantly for what God will do in and through InnerChange, Urban Resurrection, and the Summer X Change interns this season.
