Over the last five weeks our team has been walking through an orientation process with 12 new volunteers. This process is six weeks long and is designed for us to get to know the potential volunteers and for them to get to know us as Urban Resurrection. It has been a very fruitful and interesting time of growth for all involved and we look forward to seeing how these new friends and co-laborers for the Gospel will impact our community and our lives for Christ. 

The training has followed a simple process of sharing our heart, vision and passion for Christ and His transformative power set in the midst of a increasingly beautiful community. We have done this by delving into some of the core values of Urban Resurrection such as community, balance, simplicity, interdependence and empowerment.  As we walk with each other and learn what it means to love and grow together we will see the effect of “community ministering to community”. We are also very excited to know that some of the work will now be able to be spread out and hopefully our load will be relieved in some key areas like administration, mentoring, and community face time. We look forward to the times when we will learn from our new volunteers and the new perspectives they bring to the community and for the times when we will be able to train and teach them some of what we have learned and experienced.
